GHS Senior Landen Pruett competed in the IHSA State Bowling Finals on January 26 & 27 at the O’Fallon St. Claire Bowl. Pruett, the first Geneseo boys bowler to ever compete at state finished 21st overall with 2,539 pins. Charlie Hunt of Rockton Hononegah won the championship with a 2,767 score.

Pruett Makes History! Advances To State!
Geneseo Senior Landen Pruett advances to the IHSA State Bowling Finals following a 3rd place finish (among non-team qualifiers) at Saturdays Rockford Jefferson Sectional. By advancing to state, Pruett becomes the first GHS boys bowler to qualify for the finals and the first GHS bowler since the Lady Leafs Madison Holevoet in 2021-22. The state finals will be held at the St. Claire Bowl in O’Fallon this Friday & Saturday. Good luck Landen!!

Landen Pruett Wins Individual Regional As Maple Leafs Take 3rd Overall!
Senior Landen Pruett rolled a 1,308 to win the Regional Individual Championship at Potter’s Alley in Morton! The Leafs 3rd place finish sends them off to the Sectional this Saturday at Don Carter Lanes in Rockford. Host Morton (5,712) won the team regional followed by Rock Island (5,586) who edged out the Leafs for 2nd place. Good Luck Leafs!!

GHS Bowling Results (12/18 & 12/20)
The Geneseo High School bowling teams were in action together on Monday December 18th as they hosted Spring Valley Hall at Arcadia Family Fun Center. The Maple Leafs defeated the Red Devils 3,470-1458 while the Lady Leafs scored a 2,683-653 win. Hall had only 2 bowlers in the girls matchup. On Wednesday December 20th, the Maple Leafs traveled to Highland Park Bowl and defeated the host Moline Maroons 3,203-2,567.
Next Up: The Maple Leafs will head to Viking Lanes on Wednesday December 27th to compete in the Hononegah Junior Gold Sport Tournament (10:00am) while the Lady Leafs host the GHS Holiday Invite (9:00am) at Arcadia on the same day.
GHS Bowling Action!
Lady Leafs Bowling defeated Erie 2,803-2,094 on Monday December 11th at Arcadia Family Fun Center. Lexi Johnson led the way for GHS with a 522 series! On Saturday December 16th, the Lady Leafs traveled to Rockford East High School where they participated in the ERAB Holiday Invite. With a score of 4,578, they finished 5th over all behind invite winner Machesney Park Harlem (5,774), Rockton Hononegah (5,725), Rockford Guilford (5,309), and host Rockford East 5,269. The JV squad finished 4th overall behind Harlem, Guilford, & Hononegah.
The Maple Leafs made the trip to Freeports 4 Seasons Bowling Center on Saturday December 16th where the competed in the Sport Shot Tournament. Landen Pruett finished 10th overall with a 1,123 series as the Leafs took 7th place with a score of 5,088. The JV team finished 4th overall with Bryce Sanders (957) and Easton Hultman (975) finished among the top individual scorers.
Next Up: Both teams face off against Spring Valley Hall on Monday December 18th at Arcadia Family Fun Center here in Geneseo.
Saturday Road Trips For GHS Bowling
The Lady Leafs took part in the United Township Invite on Saturday December 9th where they finished 4th overall. With 4,553 pins, GHS finished behind champion Sterling (5,048), the host Panthers (5,003), and Moline (4,600). Next Up: Home on December 12th vs Erie (4:00pm).
The Maple Leafs also hit the road on December 9th as they traveled to the Illinois Valley Super Bowl for the LaSalle-Peru Cavalier Classic. With 5,394 pins, the Leafs finished 7th overall behind Oregon (6,015), Dixon (5,752), Naperville Central (5,738), Mendota (5,641), Plainfield North (5,552), & Rochelle (5,500). Next Up: At the Freeport Sport Shot Tournament on Saturday December 16th (10:00am).

Lady Leafs bowling traveled to Blackhawk Lanes in Sterling on Monday November 27 where the host Warriors picked up a 2,886-2,538 victory. Paige Swain led GHS with a 457 series followed by Lexi Johnson (455), and Olivia Dickey (450). Next Up: Home on Monday December 4 vs Rock Island (4:00pm).
A 653 series from Bryce Sanders led the Leafs in their 3,226-2,844 victory over the Warriors on November 28 in Sterling. GHS followed up the victory the following day with a tough loss at Rock Island 3,633-3,496 but rebounded on November 30 with a 3,587-3,351 win at Abingdon-Avon. Carter VanOpdorp paced the Maple Leafs with a 681 series. Next Up: At Mendota on Monday (4:00pm).

Maple Leafs Bowling finished 3rd at the Harlem Invite on Saturday November 25. Landon Pruett had the high game of 255 and finished 2nd overall with a 1,365 series. The Leafs totaled 5,892 pin during the meet.
Lady Leafs Bowling kicked off their season on Saturday November 25 at the Rock Island Invitational. Led by Allyson Fords 1,070 series, GHS finished 9th overall with 4,466 pins.
Next Up: The Lady Leafs travel to Blackhawk Lanes to take on Sterling on Monday November 27 and the Maple Leafs will make the same trip the following day. Both meets begin at 4:00pm.
