Fifteen-year-old Abigail and her 10-year-old brother Kenneth were introduced with 11 other sibling pairs at the first episode of the show that aired Jan. 5, when two teams were eliminated.  Every Monday night, beginning at 7 p.m. central time, there will be another tv episode, and another team will be eliminated.  There are a total of nine episodes, and the sibling teams work together on the bakes.

Their parents are Dan and Erica Wolf and the family, which includes sister Lucy (13) live on a farm in Geneseo.

The children are home-schooled and “teaching” includes being able to be creative with recipes, etc. ..”We give them the freedom to explore recipes, new ingredients and ideas outside of the box,” Erica Wolf said.

She also shared that both Abigail and Kenneth “love to cook, and Abigail has been baking for family and friends for over five years.”

Abigail specializes in decorated sugar cookies, specialty cakes, macarons and cheesecakes, and her favorite is macarons.

She loves to try different filling flavors and decorating techniques and said, “I love to bake for many occasions, because food isn’t just food.  It’s what brings people together.”

Kenneth Wolf is said to make a “great pate a choux,” which is a base dough for cream puffs and eclairs.  He fills them with different flavors of whipped cream, such as raspberry and tops them with chocolate ganache.

Their Mom added, “They both love trying new recipes, and we try to give them freedom to work in the kitchen.  All the children are involved in our summer garden and peach orchard and help make salsa, pickles, and peach pies.”

Kenneth added, “Baking is relaxing for me.  It gives me a chance to design in a delicious way.”

Two years ago, Abigail Wolf applied to be a contestant on “Kids Baking championship” and the Food Network.

“We were contacted in the spring of this year about her being on the show with a sibling, and Kenneth really wanted to join her,” Erica Wolf said.

A total of twelve sibling pairs were chosen to complete on the newly-titled show, ‘Baking Championship: Next Gen’.”

Mom and the two children spent time in Burbank, CA this summer while filming the series.
