Geneseo Current
Abigail and Kenneth Wolf of Geneseo have been creating unique desserts with themes ranging from “Family Desserts” and “Travel Inspired,” to “Breakfast Dessert Imposters” and “Crème Puff Bracelets,” for the last several weeks on the “Baking Championship: Next Gen” Food Network TV series, and the brother and sister team survived the recent sixth segment of the series, which aired on Monday, Feb. 9.
They will be one of the four teams left in competition on next week’s show, which airs at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, with a theme of “Big and Little Desserts.” There are three episodes left, with the final show featuring three teams, two of which will be eliminated and the champion bakers will be awarded $25,000 in prize money.
For the “Crème Puff” challenge on Feb. 9, the teams were tasked with making two cream puff friendship bracelets that represented themselves.
Abigail and Kenneth Wolf
Abigail and Kenneth chose to fill their beautifully executed pat-a-choux with coconut diplomat cream.
The assignment also required the teams to create a phrase that topped their cream puffs.
The Wolf Family nickname is the “Wolf Pack,” and Kenneth came up with the phrase, “The Wolf Pack doesn’t eat meat, we eat cake,” during a Zoom interview in May.
Abigail and Kenneth are the children of Dan and Erica Wolf, and the family, which includes sister Lucy (13) live on a farm in Geneseo.
The children are home-schooled and “teaching” includes being able to be creative with Recipes.
The family was contacted in the spring of last year about being on the show with a sibling, after Abigail applied to be a contestant on “Kids Baking Championship,” and the Food Network.
Kenneth really wanted to join his sister, and Mom and the two children spent time in Burbank, CA last summer while filming the series.
When asked about any “free time,” the family had while in California, Erica Wolf shared, “While in California, we had many opportunities to take advantage of free time. We went to a Dodgers game, hiked to see the HOLLYWOOD sign, completed an Escape Room and swam in the hotel pool.”
She said they enjoyed new restaurants, “often using Door Dash, as we were all exhausted at the end of a day at the studio. Much of the time we spent with our new friends from the show.”
