Pauline Swanson is well known in the area for her art work and recently has been recognized as an author as well.

Swanson, a member of RutabagA Gallery in downtown Geneseo, presented a gift of copies of her two volumes titled “My Artwork Legacy Vol. 1” and “My Artwork Legacy Vol. 2” to the Geneseo Public Library.  The books were edited by Janet Morrisette-Swanson, daughter-in-law of Swanson.

The books are a Shutter fly production containing reproduction photographs of most of the creative output by Swanson, who has been painting for 50-plus years, and most recently as an active member of RutabagA Gallery, at 108 North State St. in downtown Geneseo.

Swanson said the original intent was for the volumes to be a legacy/gift to each of her six adult children.  When outside interest for the books was expressed, along with encouragement from her daughter-in-law, who edited the volumes, Swanson contracted for a second printing to include the gift to the Geneseo Library.  There also are a few remaining books available to purchase at RutabagA Gallery.  A portion of each sale will be donated to RutabagA, which is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
