Shelly Moore of Quilt Stitching by Shelly, of Blue Grass, Iowa, will present the program at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, for the Geneseo Quilt Guild. The meeting will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church, 316 South Oakwood, Geneseo.
Moore’s program is titled “Custom Not Required: Next Level E2E to Create Magical Quilts,” and her program will include discussing how the program title applies to both longarmers and piercers, while peeking into the mind of a computerized longarmer about how to create magical quilting an E2E (pantograph).
Piercers can expect high-quality quilting from a longarmer by understanding a longarmer’s process, skill, experience, and type (e.g., free motion, ruler work, computerized). Those who quilt their own projects can achieve the techniques the speaker will share in the upcoming lesson, even though they may use a different resource, or process.
AND FOR THE LONGARMERS – “Even if you do not use the same computerized system as Shelly does while quilting for her customers (Gammill Ascent), it still will be possible to apply some of Shelly’s techniques. In addition, software programs may vary in the level of pattern manipulation and control than what Shelly uses (Creative Studio 7), but her presentation shows how to think differently about E2E (pantograph) choices, size, scale and placement.”
