Lady Leafs Advance! Defeat Dixon In 3A Regional Quarterfinals!

A 25-14, 25-15 victory over Dixon sends the Lady Leafs (20-16) to the IHSA 3A LaSalle-Peru Regional Semifinals! #7 seeded GHS will now take on the #1 seeded and regional host LP on Tuesday evening at 6:00pm. The winner of that matchup will face the winner of #4 Morris and #6 Rochelle on Thursday at LPHS for the Regional Championship.

Lady Leafs Win At Sherrard To Cap Off Regular Season!

The Lady Leafs traveled to Sherrard High School on Thursday October 20th and scored a 25-19, 18-25, 25-18 win over the host Tigers. GHS finishes the regular season with an overall record of 19-16. Their 9-5 record in Western Big Six play earned the Leafs a third place finish in conference play. Next Up: IHSA 3A Regional Quarterfinals at LaSalle-Peru High School where #7 seeded Geneseo will take on #9 Dixon on Monday October 23rd (6:00pm). The Lady Leafs were straight set winners over Dixon this past Monday 25-17, 25-17.

After dropping the first set, the Lady Leafs (18-16, 9-5 WB6) stormed out to a big lead in the second but a furious Sterling rally propelled the visiting Golden Warriors to a hard fought 25-19, 25-23 victory on Tuesday evening at GHS. Next Up: The Lady Leafs will conclude the 2023 regular season at Sherrard on Thursday October 19 (7:00pm). Postseason play begins on Monday October 23 where a rematch with #9 seeded Dixon awaits #7 GHS in the IHSA 3A Regional Quarterfinals. Match will take place at 6:00pm at LaSalle-Peru High School.

Lady Leafs Win 3 of 5 At The Limestone Fall Classic!

Three victories for the Lady Leafs at the Limestone Classic on Saturday October 14 in Bartonville, IL! The tournament started with GHS picking up a couple wins over Peoria Richwoods (25-17, 25-17) and Roanoke-Benson (25-13, 25-14) before dropping back to back matches to LaSalle-Peru (25-17, 24-26, 15-5) and host Limestone (25-19, 25-10). The Leafs concluded the tournament with a 17-25, 25-15, 15-8 victory over WB6 rival Sterling to finish in 3rd place! Lizzie Rapps was named to the All-Tournment Team!

Next Up: Lady Leafs return home to face Dixon in non-conference action on Monday October 16. On Tuesday October 17, Sterling comes to GHS on Senior Night!

Lady Leafs Back In The Win Column!

GHS volleyball improved their record to 9-4 in Western Big 6 play and 14-13 overall after defeating Rock Island 25-15, 17-25, 25-18 on Thursday evening at RIHS. The win snapped a two game skid as the Lady Leafs had dropped a pair to Moline (25-18, 25-23) and Orion (26-24, 25-19) earlier in the week.

Next Up: At the Limestone Fall Classic this Saturday (9:00am) at Limestone High School in Bartonville, IL. The Lady Leafs return home Monday with a non-conference matchup with Dixon followed by Senior Night on Tuesday as Sterling comes to GHS. Both varsity matches scheduled to start at 6:00pm.
