LARRY W. DOYE: DECEMBER 20, 1947 ~ FEBRUARY 13, 2023

Larry William Doye, 76, of Hooppole, IL, passed away at Hillcrest Home on February 13, 2024. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday February 17, 2024, at 12 pm at Calvary Evangelical Church in Hooppole, IL. Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Larry Doye Memorial fund to be distributed amongst local charities. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Larry William Doye was born on December 20, 1947, in Geneseo, IL, the son of LaVerne and Lois (Goembel) Doye. He graduated from Annawan High School in 1966 and attended college at Western Illinois University. Larry married Judy Noord on April 24, 1970, in Morrison, IL, and together they had two children. He worked as a telephone lineman for General Telephone in Kewanee, IL, which later became Verizon, for over 40 years. He was an avid fisherman, a volunteer fireman for the Hooppole Fire Department, and was the sexton of the Hooppole Cemetery for many years. Larry also served on the Yorktown Township Board for several years. He was a lifetime member and longtime board member of the Calvary Evangelical Church in Hooppole.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Judy of Hooppole, IL; son, Matthew (Renee) Doye of Westfield, IN; daughter Allison (Steve) Cottrell of Milan, IL; brother Arlyn (Joette) Doye of Dodgeville, WI; grandchildren Alyssa, Jenna, and Rebecca Doye, Gavin, Bella, Layla, and Jaxon Cottrell.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rick Doye.
