Geneseo, Illinois — Approximately 30 employees from Wyffels Hybrids put on work boots and picked up shovels on Friday, May 8, volunteering their time to help beautify local parks in Geneseo as part of the company’s 80th anniversary celebration.
Employees spent the morning spreading mulch and completing landscaping projects at Richmond Hill Park and City Park, a project that typically takes the city’s smaller parks crew several days to complete. Thanks to the volunteer effort, the work was finished in just a couple of hours.
The event was designed to celebrate Wyffels’ long-standing connection to the Geneseo community while creating a meaningful opportunity for employees to give back alongside coworkers.
“For many of us, it was a chance to work side by side, get our hands dirty, and spend time together doing something that makes a visible difference,” said Abby Jodts, an accounting assistant and engagement committee member who helped organize the project.
“Giving back is part of who we are,” Jodts said. “Working together on something the whole community can enjoy made the day especially meaningful as we celebrate 80 years of being part of Geneseo.”
