The Christmas season will be celebrated at the Geneso Historical Museum at a special Christmas Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17.
Guides in vintage dress will welcome guests to the museum which will be decorated in Victorian splendor.
Alex Fox, Geneseo will be in the formal parlor sharing Christmas and classical music from the past on his antique victrola.
A special feature will be the 11-room Victorian doll house, which is a recent gift to the museum from Debra Stiner, who received the doll house from a friend 30 years ago. Angie Snook, curator of the museum, said Stiner “cherished the gift and decided it was time to donate it to the museum so many other people could enjoy it as much as she has.”
There are four doll houses currently on display at the museum.
In addition, the museum also has a display of original White House ornaments released each year to celebrate “The People House.”
The Stees Brothers Carriage House, located in back of the museum, also will be open during the Christmas Open House on Dec. 17, and will be decorated for the season. The Harold Neumann display will be the main feature along with the other levels of interesting memorabilia in the Carriage House.
