Geneseo First United Methodist Church invites the community to its “Celebrate the Season” services at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11. The special Christmas-season services use music, drama, and a special message from the Rev Chris Ritter, pastor, to tell the story of Christmas and the birth of Jesus. The church is located at 302 North State St. in Geneseo.

“This is one of the biggest events of the year for us,” said Tim Brinkman, director of worship. “More than 100 people collaborate to share their gifts of music, drama, decoration, and hospitality. It's an absolute joy for us to put this together to share with our church and community.”

“Celebrate the Season” is tied in with the weekend festivities around the Geneseo Victorian Christmas Walk and the church is also offering a Christmas Walk Meal from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.  The meal is open to the entire community with chili, hot dogs, and cookies served by donation.  All ages are welcome.

The church also offers a children's Christmas event, "Follow That Star," for preschool through 5th grade age children on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 9 and 10:30am.
