Community Choir Concert to Include Sale of Painting – By Claudia Louck

The Community Choir of Geneseo will present their 15th annual concert entitled “Perspective,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, in the Geneseo High School Concert Hall.

Members of the Community Choir and the Children’s Choir will sing “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” “Brace” and “Bandstand Boogie.”

The Community Choir, directed by Pam Edwards, will perform “Blue Moon,” “Crowded Table,” “Amazing Grace,” and “Choose Something Like a Star.”

The Children’s Choir will sing “To Music,” “Inscription of Hope” and “Under the Sea.” Directors are Pam Edwards and Amy Croft. They will be assisted by Caroline Burmahl, Denise Eiker and Hannah Wiyrick.

Vocal soloists, instrumentalist (including two members of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra), dancers and Geneseo artist Sharon Michaelsen will be featured.

A painting by Michaelsen will be sold in a sealed bid after the concert.

Admission for the concert is $5 for K-12; $7 for ages 18 and older; free for children under age 5. Anyone interested in donating to the Community Choir’s music education scholarship endowment fund may send their gifts to Quad Cities Community Foundation, 852 Middle Rd., Ste. 100, Bettendorf, IA 52722.
