The Geneseo Current has launched a new Election 2026 page designed to give Geneseo and Henry County voters one place to find important information ahead of the November General Election.
The page will serve as a growing voter resource, with information being added and updated as Election Day approaches.
The goal is simple: make local election information easier to find, understand and follow.
What Voters Can Find Now
The Election 2026 page currently includes important election dates and deadlines, information about early voting and voting by mail, voter registration resources and a link to find Election Day polling places.
The Current has also created a separate guide showing which Henry County offices are up for election this year, along with current officeholders and party affiliations.
Together, the resources give voters a starting point for understanding what's happening locally and what they can expect to see on the ballot.
More Will Be Added
The page isn't intended to be a finished voter guide months before the election. Instead, it will grow as more information becomes available.
The Current plans to add candidate information and profiles, official sample ballots, local referenda and public questions, candidate interviews and other election-related reporting.
Election Night results will also be available through the page, along with links to official Henry County results.
Keeping Advertising and Coverage Separate
As election season continues, the page may also include sponsored political messages purchased by candidates, political parties or campaign committees.
Paid political advertising will be clearly identified and kept separate from The Current's independent election coverage.
Candidate coverage, voting information, ballot information and other election reporting will not be dependent on advertising purchases.
One Place to Follow Election 2026
The needs of voters will change as November approaches.
Right now, readers may want to know which offices are up for election or when they can begin voting. Later, they may be looking for candidate information, sample ballots or information about a referendum. On Election Night, they'll be looking for results.
The goal is to make the Election 2026 page a central place to find all of it.
Official voting information will continue to come from the Henry County Clerk and Illinois State Board of Elections. The Current's role is to make those resources easier to find while adding local reporting and information relevant to Geneseo and Henry County voters.
The page will continue to be updated throughout the election season as new information becomes available.
The goal isn't to tell anyone how to vote. It's to make it easier to know how, when, where and who you're voting for.
