Meet Ben Young, Attorney with Nash, Bean, Ford & Brown LLC. Young is also a Financial Coach with Wisdom Financial Services. He has been named President of the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2023.
Serving on the Chamber’s Executive Committee is: President Ben Young – Nash Bean Ford & Brown LLC, Vice President Katie Kutsunis – GWK Enterprises, Treasurer Shelly Hickerson – Black Hawk Bank & Trust, Past President Adam Minard – Sweet Peas Grill & Bar, and Executive Director Zack Sullivan - Geneseo Chamber of Commerce.
Also serving on the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors are: Julie Bauman – Hammond Henry Hospital, April Davis – Central Bank, Scott Freeman – Midwest Best Detail, Mark Grywacheski – Quad Cities Investment Group, Brandon Maeglin – City of Geneseo, Joe Mowen - Northside Elementary School, John Puentes – In-A-Godda-Da-Vida Music, Catherine Rothschild - Catherine Rothschild CPA PC, Andy Thurman – Geneseo Park District, and Kelly Wolf – Caffeine and Carbs. Valerie Kline is the Administrative Assistant at the Geneseo Chamber.
Young has been part of the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce Board since 2020 and it is evident that he genuinely cares about Geneseo, where he was born and raised. Young has been married to his wife Abby, who is also a Geneseo native, since 2012. The Youngs have three girls at home. Young graduated from Geneseo High School in 2005. He earned a Bachelor’s of Political Science at Bradley University and studied Law at Valparaiso University.
In addition to being President of the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce Board, Young also is a board member with a group called Walk With You, whose mission is helping families cope with infant loss. Young is the District Attorney for the Geneseo Fire Protection District. At the Geneseo Chamber, he serves on the Geneseo Mural Project, Golf Outing and Scholarship committees.
In 2023, the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce will focus on the growth it has experienced over the past few years. The Geneseo Chamber will be giving its website a makeover, partnering with Team WTI to create a better online visitor experience for those looking to discover Geneseo businesses and organizations. The updated website will also feature a community calendar that will be easier to navigate. The Geneseo Chamber will also be hosting a strategic planning session, mapping out the Geneseo Chamber’s goals and trajectory for the next five to ten years.
“Every measurable metric at the Geneseo Chamber has seen improvement since the pandemic - including membership retention, event attendance, gift certificate redemption, online audience growth, and so on.” said Zack Sullivan, Executive Director, Geneseo Chamber. “We are clicking on all cylinders at the Geneseo Chamber. What better time than now to harness this momentum and define our direction for the next decade? To even be at this point which enables our organization to do this is a sign of positive momentum for our Chamber.”
