The Geneseo High School Speech Team placed fourth out of 14 teams at the IHSA Regional Meet held at Spoon River Valley High School.  In the photo are team members, in front from left, Shay Schehl, Alegna Lopez, Beth Mroz, Josie Bull; and in back, Joe Versluis, Jonathan Freadhoff, Perry Farley and Erik Kelly.  Individual honors at the Regional competition went to Mroz, Regional Champion in Prose;  Versluis, third place in Extemporaneous Speaking;  Versluis and Schehl, fourth in Humorous Duet Acting; Bull, fourth in Original Oratory; Kelly, fifth in Poetry; and Farley, third in Radio Speaking.  Mroz, Versluis, Schehl, Bull and Farley advanced to the Sectional Meet on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Morris High School. 

      Five Geneseo High School students also participated in seven events at the IHSA Speech Sectional also held Feb. 11 at Spoon River Valley High School.  Beth Mroz earned sixth place n Prose.  The GHS students who participated are in the photo, from left, Perry Farley, Josie Bull, Mroz, Shay Schehl, and Joe Versluis.  GHS staff members Jeanne Brucher and Kathy Buysse are Speech Team advisors.
