Twenty-six students form Geneseo High School qualified for the Illinois State Library’s 2024 Read for a Lifetime Program. The program is sponsored each year by the Illinois State Library.

Students receive the new reading list in May every year and have until the first week of April in the next year to read and review the books. It takes four books to qualify for the program.

Jeanne Brucher, GHS and GMS librarian, coordinates the program, and she said, “Every year several students will read all 25.”

GHS senior Elizabeth Ramp is the 19th GHS student to join the State Library’s 100 Book Club by reading all 25 books from the annual Read for a Lifetime list each year of high school. Ramp said her favorite book from the reading lists was “Instructions for Dancing,” by Nicola Yoon. Contributed Photo
