Local nonprofit organizations have a new opportunity to secure funding for projects serving the Geneseo community.
The GIFT Community Foundation, or Geneseo Is For Tomorrow, opened its fall grant cycle Sept. 15, with eligible organizations able to apply for grants of up to $1,500.
Applications are due Oct. 15, with grant recipients scheduled to be notified Oct. 31.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. The grants provide another potential source of support for local organizations working in areas such as education, health, community services and other charitable efforts.
GIFT operates as a geographic affiliate of the Quad Cities Community Foundation and was established to support the long-term needs of the Geneseo community. Its family of funds includes charitable and scholarship funds supporting a variety of local organizations, programs and causes.
The GIFT Community Foundation is overseen locally by an affiliate advisory board made up of Geneseo-area residents, with the Quad Cities Community Foundation providing administrative and grantmaking support.
For smaller nonprofits in particular, awards of up to $1,500 can help fund specific projects, equipment, supplies or other organizational needs.
