Wyatt Brieser, Hammond-Henry Hospital CEO, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis’ Who's Who in America. As in all Marquis’ Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A distinguished expert in healthcare leadership and hospital administration for rural critical access hospitals, Brieser has dedicated over 15 years to advancing the quality and sustainability of healthcare in west central Illinois. His career is marked by a steady progression through increasingly responsible roles at Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo, where he currently serves as Chief Executive Officer.

Assuming his leadership role at Hammond-Henry in 2025, Brieser oversees strategy and fiscal responsibility for the hospital and its four clinic locations. He also directs the administrative team, leads strategic planning and budgeting initiatives, and manages recruitment efforts to bring new service lines to the community. Under his leadership, the hospital has implemented advanced systems such as electronic medical records (EPIC), general ledger (MultiView), and payroll (UKG).

Additionally, Brieser conducts department-led meetings and mission debriefings, ensuring the hospital maintains operational stability and high-quality care. Having worked as a physical therapist since 2012, he also performs clinical duties when needed, including serving the hospital’s long-term care unit, and represents Hammond-Henry at public speaking engagements.

Prior to assuming his role as CEO, Brieser was Vice President of Operations at Hammond-Henry Hospital from 2023 to 2025. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in operational oversight, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting the hospital’s mission to deliver accessible healthcare services to individuals and families throughout the region.

Also serving as Director of Outpatient Services at Hammond-Henry from 2022 to 2023, Brieser was pivotal in expanding outpatient offerings and enhancing patient care delivery across service lines such as nutrition, imaging, lab, rehabilitation, and pharmacy. His leadership contributed to improved patient outcomes and increased community engagement with numerous hospital programs.

From 2019 to 2022, Brieser held the position of Long-Term Care Manager at Hammond-Henry Hospital. Overseeing a team of nurses, nursing aides, and activities personnel, he ensured compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining a compassionate environment for residents. His commitment to quality care and ability to foster personalized relationships with patients and their families strengthened the hospital’s reputation as a trusted provider for long-term health needs.

In recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to rural healthcare, Brieser was honored with the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network “4 Under 40” Award in 2024. Reflecting on his storied professional journey thus far, he emphasizes that his success is rooted in teamwork and the guidance of mentors who have shaped his professional path from his earliest days as a rehabilitation tech.

Hailing from an equally robust academic background, Brieser earned a Master of Business Administration from St. Ambrose University in 2020, equipping him with advanced skills in organizational management and strategic planning. Eight years prior, he completed a doctorate in physical therapy at Washington University in St. Louis, which provided him with deep clinical knowledge essential for effective leadership in hospital settings.

Brieser’s entry into the healthcare profession was inspired during his undergraduate studies at Augustana College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in biology in 2009. After completing his doctoral studies at Washington University, he returned to Hammond-Henry Hospital - where he had previously received scholarship support - with a steadfast commitment to serving the community that shaped him.

Known for his dedication to service beyond the workplace as well, Brieser is civically engaged through active involvement with organizations such as Kiwanis Club and Rotary International.

Born in Mineral, IL, and raised on a farm before relocating to Atkinson at age 5, Brieser’s upbringing instilled in him the values of hard work and community connection. He comes from an extensive family network that is deeply rooted in west central Illinois; both sides of his family are large and closely knit, providing him with enduring support throughout his life and career. His grandmother Doris and mother Anita have been particularly influential pillars of encouragement.

Today, Brieser is happily married to his wife Hannah, whose parents Rich and Linda are actively involved in supporting their family life and professional endeavors. Together, they have three young children who bring him immense joy and inspire him daily.

Determined to further his impact on rural healthcare in Illinois, Brieser aims to further establish Hammond-Henry Hospital as a destination where providers want to practice medicine, employees aspire to work, and community members can seek the highest quality of care. He also plans to increase his involvement with policy initiatives through organizations such as the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) and Illinois Hospital Association (IHA). By helping to shape impactful policies, he seeks to ensure that communities have access to affordable healthcare services while addressing broader issues related to wellness and the social determinants of health.
