The recent Celebrity Dinner hosted by Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation Committee was a “real circus” that combined entertainment and dinner and raised more than $56,000.
Celebrity Dinner Wait Staff
The 22nd annual Celebrity Dinner was held at Lavender Crest Winery.
Katie Orwig, HHH Foundation Manager, described the night as being “full of fun with a circus theme. There was a live fortune telling machine, in addition to a skit with hopeful circus acts that didn’t quite male the cut. They were funny, but not so talented.”
It was the wait staff that put “celebrity” into the night as table servers were business colleagues and hospital staff.

Stenzel Auction conducted the live auction that raised over $56,000.
Orwig said some of the funds raised were donated to purchase specific items for various hospital departments, with 10 percent of the funds raised going to the Endowment. The remaining $48,000 will be used to help with the purchase of new beds/mattresses for Long Term Care Living Center at the hospital.
There were 207 people who attended the annual event, planned by the hospital’s Foundation Annual Support Committee which includes Mark Grywacheski, chairman; Sue Emmerson, Jo Lea Holevoet, Linda Rakestraw, Kathleen Repass, Jenna Rushing, Crystal Yost (Foundation Assistant), and Katie Orwig (Foundation Manager).
