Art work by Pauline Swanson is featured in the window at RutabagA Gallery, 108 North State St., in downtown Geneseo, during the month of February. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Swanson, a member of RutabagA, is a gifted self-taught oil painter. She also has pursued water color, wood turning, jewelry making and sculpture.
The artist describes her style of painting as Romantic Realism. Her favorite subject of painting is portraits and in addition to portraits, Swanson has created landscapes inspired by a trip to Italy and Slovenia.\
She shared that she has always had a passion for art which she was able to pursue after raising eight children, and said she feels blessed by her artistic gifts and strives to share her gifts with others. She is grateful to her Creator who blessed her with these gifts…“It is with deep humble gratitude to my Creator for the creative gift of painting and drawing …to whom I offer profound thanks,” Swanson said.
