GENESEO — State Street Market will return to downtown Geneseo on Saturday, Oct. 3, bringing a full day of open-air shopping, food and live music to State Street.
The Geneseo Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual fall event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. The Chamber describes it as a once-a-year market built around handmade goods, vintage finds and local crafts from makers across the region.
More than 50 vendor booths are expected to line State Street, while local musicians and performers provide a soundtrack for the day. Downtown shops and restaurants also will be open, giving visitors a chance to move beyond the market booths and make a full day of the trip.
Fourteen food vendors broaden the menu
The Chamber has announced 14 mobile food trucks, carts and pop-ups positioned at both ends of the market map. The lineup ranges from lobster and tacos to doughnuts, barbecue, coffee, lemonade, ice cream and kettle corn.
The Chamber is also encouraging visitors to try Geneseo restaurants throughout the day, particularly if lines are long near the market. Options in town include quick-service, pub and sit-down dining.
A market tote doubles as a fundraiser
A limited-edition State Street Market tote is available ahead of the event through Katsch, Four Seasons and Pegasus, according to the Chamber. Four Seasons lists the cotton-canvas tote at $24.99 and says all proceeds support the Chamber’s State Street Market event.
A separate downtown sale begins at 8 a.m.
Visitors who want an earlier start can also check out the Kingswood Silent Auction & Garage Sale, listed for 8 a.m. Saturday at 302 N. State St. Because the sale information comes from a third-party event listing, visitors should confirm details with Kingswood before making a special trip.
