Kelly Jo Burbridge loves houseplants and that love led her to starting her own business, “Root & Ramble,” a pop-up business based in Geneseo and featured at various local events and locations.
“Root & Ramble” offers curated houseplants, plant accessories, and plant-inspired goods.
Burbridge said she started the business “to share the joy of houseplants in our community. Plants have a way of bringing life, calm, and personality into a space, and I want to make that feeling accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”
The idea for her business grew from her love of houseplants and the happiness they bring to everyday spaces…I noticed that while many people are interested in plants, they can sometimes feel overwhelmed or unsure of where to start. ‘Root & Ramble’ is meant to remove that pressure and make discovering plants feel fun, approachable, and inspiring.”
When Burbridge was asked about the biggest hurdle she had to overcome in launching her business, she answered, “The biggest hurdle has been balancing the excitement of starting something new with all the behind-the-scenes details. There’s a lot to learn, but each step has helped shape ‘Root & Ramble’ into something intentional, along with making room for an ever-growing collection of houseplants at home.”
