Many activities are returning to this year’s Geneseo “Christmas Walk Throwback” after not being held during previous Walks due to guidelines in place from the pandemic.
The Smith Studio and Gallery is bringing back its free children’s craft activity from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, the day of the Christmas Walk. The annual event was put “on hold” due to the pandemic, but this year a new activity has been created for children to enjoy.
In previous years, students in the Geneseo Art club have been at the Smith Studio in order to help the younger children with the holiday craft. In return, Smith Studio has always created a one-of-kind holiday ornament to raffle off with the proceeds going to the GHS Art Club.
This year, artist David Smith went bigger with his design and created a 12-inch Santa for the Art Club raffle. The design has Santa presenting a gift box, and the lid opens so that in Christmas’ to come the gift box can hold a different holiday surprise.
Raffle tickets are available to purchase at the Smith Studio and Gallery, 124 South State St., Geneseo, through the evening of the Victorian Walk on Dec. 10. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5.
The Smith Studio is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and is closed Sunday and Monday.
