Geneseo Current
Sue Sterling has been named “Volunteer of the Month” at the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry. She has been a volunteer at the food pantry for ten months and works in the food room assisting guests with their shopping.
Sterling said guests to the food Pantry are amazed at the wide variety of food and personal care items that are available.
She moved to Geneseo in 2021 from Medford, MA, to help her parents.
In her free time, Sterling enjoys reading, book club, bike riding, fitness walking and exploring new places.
She said the best thing about volunteering at the Food Pantry is meeting and working with “such a great group of people – guests, volunteers and staff. They make working a lot of fun!”
Her most memorable experience at the food pantry was at Christmastime, seeing all the wonderful gifts and gift wrapping supplies available to guests and their families. Also, she was able to see first-hand the support that the local community provides to the food pantry with their food, clothing and household item donations.
