Geneseo Current

Marcia Swanson has been named Volunteer of the Month at the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry, where she has been volunteering for one year.

She assists guests in the foods room and sorts donations in the clothing room. She and her husband, Gregg Swanson, who also volunteers at the Food Pantry, have two children, three grandchildren, and one cat.

Marcia enjoys fishing, kayaking, being outside and drawing, and she said the best thing about volunteering at the Food Pantry is the people she has met (staff, volunteers and guests). She said everyone “has been so kind,” and added that sometimes guests do not take all of their allowed number of items, so they can leave more for others.

Nicole Freadhoff, assistant director at the Food Pantry, “Thank you for all your help, Marcia!”
