Tricia R. Henkhaus: February 20th, 1971 ~ June 14th, 2025

June 17, 2025 Dalcon DeMaranville

Tricia (“Trish”) Reneè Henkhaus, 54, of Geneseo Illinois went to be in the loving arms of Jesus on June 14th, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital surrounded by loving family. Her visitation will be held at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Geneseo Chapel on Thursday, June 19th from 3-6pm. Her Celebration of Life service will be held at Geneseo Evangelical Free Church on Friday, June 20th at 10am. All donations in her honor can be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Condolences can be left at www.vandemorefuneralhome.com

Trish was born February 20th, 1971, in Mattoon Illinois to John Marion Eades and Sandy Kaye (McMechan) Eades. She graduated from New Berlin High School in 1989 and went onto Eastern Illinois University to receive her bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 1992, then later her master’s degree in counseling in 1994.

After dating since their senior year of high school, she married her husband Craig Henkhaus on March 17th, 2001, in Springfield Illinois. They went on to have two children—Luke Patrick Henkhaus (23) and Amelia (Millie) Kaye Henkhaus (20). Trish worked for many counseling agencies, was a stay-at-home mother for her two children, worked as a teacher’s aide for Millikin Elementary School, and later became a telehealth counselor, touching many lives through her work.

Trish loved all things outdoors. She enjoyed hiking, exploring national parks, kayaking, and walking with her family and their beloved family dog—Elway. She loved trying new restaurants, planning trips, and adventures with her friends. She was a member of Geneseo Evangelical Free Church and was involved in youth ministry there when her kids were young. She was a volunteer every Thursday and Friday morning for the Geneseo High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) chapter. She also hosted and led a girls high school Bible study in her home every week for many years, serving the youth of her community. Trish was a selfless person with a servant heart. She was a light to those around her and left a lasting impact on anyone and everyone she knew.

Remaining to cherish Trish and celebrate her life are Craig, Luke, and Millie Henkhaus, along with her father, Marion Eades, mother, Sandy Eades, and sister Amy Ozier. She is also cherished by many more family members and close friends.
