Don’t Stop Me Now!

The Green Machine offense looked flat out explosive last Friday. With everything firing as it should, the Sandwich defense was left on their heels. Scoring 33 points in the third quarter, the Leafs boasted a 51 point difference at games end. Final 58-7.

After two big wins at home, conference play begins. United Township returns to Bob Reade Field. Only this time, they return knowing what success feels like. “They have confidence now. They’ve always had athletes and they’ve always had guys who can make big plays” says head coach, Larry Johnsen. “Coach Welch is a really good football coach and he got them on a roll last year. He’s the right fit for them and he’s had them playing well the last two years.” Johnsen continues, “I expect an explosive offense, a well coached team, a team that wants to get into space. They’re playing with confidence but so are we.”

Freshman kickoff is at 5:00 followed by the varsity at 7:00.
