The Lady Leafs will play tomorrow, Thursday February 12th, in one of their most meaningful games of the season—Pink Zone. Community members, fans, and families are invited to wear pink and gather in a spirit of faith, compassion, and unity to support this special night that combines school spirit with a shared mission of service and love for others.

Pink Zone has become a cherished Lady Leaf Basketball tradition, raising more than $20,000 for local charities and support groups over the years. What began as a simple night to honor those affected by cancer has grown into a community-wide effort to make a tangible difference in the lives of survivors and their families.

This year, funds raised will be split between two local organizations: the Dee Menendez Support Group (a Geneseo-based breast cancer support group), and 3D Strong (a program offered through Hammond-Henry Hospital).

Both organizations play a vital role in supporting individuals and families navigating a cancer journey. 3D Strong provides a variety of programs, including exercise activities, crafts, shared meals, and other opportunities that promote physical and emotional well-being. The Dee Menendez Support Group offers practical and compassionate assistance such as meals, gas cards, hotel stays during treatment, guest speakers, and additional resources tailored to the needs of breast cancer patients and their loved ones.

Most importantly, both groups foster a welcoming and safe environment where participants can connect with others who truly understand their experiences. Through monthly meetings, members share laughter, tears, encouragement, and personal stories—creating a powerful network of support and friendship.

As the Lady Leafs take the court in pink, they’ll be playing for more than just a win—they’ll be playing for hope, healing, and community. Fans are encouraged to wear pink, show their support, and help make this year’s Pink Zone another success for these deserving local organizations.
