The Lady Leafs hosted their Volleyball invite on September 11th. The varsity won the tournament and the JV placed fourth. On Tuesday, they made the trip to Rock Island and played two tough sets against the Lady Rocks, but fell 2-0. Head coach Casey Komel said “We made a lot of errors we don’t typically make and we weren’t necessarily ourselves. Rocky played a great game, but we did not bring the team we have been working towards.”
Wednesday, they turned the tide against the other team from Rock Island. Alleman came to town and the Lady Leafs won easily, 2-0. Today(Saturday, September 18th) the Lady Leafs cruise down to Quincy.
Accoring to head Komel, “Losing to Rocky was big, it was a big momentum shift. I was glad we were able to come out tonight against Alleman and get some of that momentum back so we can keep building. Trying to fight for that top conference spot is going to be pivotal, and that’s a lot of pressure on the girls.”
