Down 3-0 in the 7th, the Lady Leafs managed to load the bases and push across a run on a Kyah Newell walk to score Madisyn Buysse but the Rocks held firm to hand GHS their first setback since March 27. Penny Kline collected a couple hits while Kendyl Wassenhove gave up just six hits and three runs in the loss.

Another day, another rally for the Lady Leafs. Lillian Brown smacked three doubles and scored three runs with Madisyn Buysse collecting a couple hits while driving in three as the Lady Leafs rallied late for the second consecutive game to defeat Kewanee 12-10. Avery Kennedy and McKenna Johnson each doubled and Mackenzie Air gave up a pair of hits and a single run over four plus innings in relief. The Lady Leafs ninth straight win improves their record to 11-4 overall.

Moline pitching cooled off the Leaf bats on Wednesday as a Kale Whitaker single was all GHS managed to scratch out versus the host Maroons. Aiden Brudos pitched a solid six innings, giving up just six hits and four runs. The loss ended the Leafs three game conference winning streak and pushed their overall record to 6-7 (3-1 WB6).

Jocelyn Cechowicz (pole vault) and Bella Brown (shot put) each took first place on Friday even in Galesburg. Brooklyn Smith took second and fourth in the 1600 meter run and 3200 meter run respectively. Payton Boone finished fourth in the 100 meter hurdles and the 4x400 relay team of Oliva Yost, Katherine Barickman, Brooklyn Smith, & Molly Snyder also took fourth.

A two run walk-off single by McKenna Johnson scored Penny Kline and Avery Kennedy to complete a late Lady Leaf rally 6-5. Madisyn Buysse homered in the fourth to get GHS on the board and Kennedy & Lillian Brown each smacked a double. Jaylee Brudos knocked in a pair of runs and Kendyl Wassenhove gave up just six hits while striking out seven in the win.

The Lady Leafs quest for a seventh straight victory began with an eleven run first inning and ended with a 23-0 trouncing of the host Silver Streaks. Kendyl Wassenhove went 2-2 at the plate with a pair of runs driven in and gave up zero hits while striking out three on the mound. Penny Kline collected a couple hits and drove in a run while scoring three. Jaylee Brudos, Avery Kennedy, McKenna Johnson, & Lillian Brown added a double each in the victory.

A barrage of second half goals turned a tight 3-1 contest into a rout as the Lady Leafs moved to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play with a 10-1 victory over Galesburg. Ava DeSplinter netted a pair of first half goals along with Lily Taylor bouncing one in off the post to give GHS a 3-1 lead at intermission. The Leafs didn’t waste any time in the second half as Olivia DeSplinter knocked in three straight within a matter of minutes to earn herself the hat trick and to put the game out of reach. Emilee Coons (2), Annie Maxwell, & Erika Cotty finished off the scoring for GHS.
