This year marks the 10th anniversary of First Methodist Church of Geneseo’s Celebrate the Savior services on Easter Sunday, April 9, at 8:30 and 10:;30 a.m. services.  The church is located at 302 North State St.

The annual celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus features music from the Worship Band, Choir, Orchestra, Miracle Bluegrass Band, Circuit Rider, and soloists; dance worship; and a special Resurrection Sunday message from the Rev. Christ Ritter, church pastor.

Rev. Ritter said, “Celebrate The Savior” is our biggest event of the year with over 100 musicians, artist, helpers, and vocalists involved in telling the Good News of Jesus’ Resurrection.  We look forward to this event each year as an opportunity to worship together and meet new friends.”

“Our world seems to be focused on death and running low on faith,” he added.  “The Resurrection of Jesus signals that life is stronger than death and faith is more powerful than despair.  We hope to connect many people to the person and work of Jesus through ‘Celebrate The Savior.’

“Easter Sunday has traditionally been the biggest day of worship each year at our church, said Tim Brinkman, director of worship at First Methodist…”Celebrate The Savior is the culmination of months of preparation that involves more than 100 people offering their time and talents.  It’s our largest outreach and we can’t wait to share it with our community.”

Also, at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., the church will offer a special Children’s Easter Egg-stravanza with fun and interactive games, music, crafts, and activities for preschool through fifth –grade age children.

Celebrate The Savior and the children’s event are both free and all are welcome.  Those unable to attend in person are invited to the service online at www.facebook.com/GeneseoFirstMethodist.  For more information about the event or about Geneseo First Methodist Church, call the church office at 309-944-2793 or visit www.peopleneedjesus.org.
