Community Invited to “Cram the Cab” and Support Local Families in Need

November 3, 2025 Dalcon DeMaranville

Katie Laleman, FBCM, Manager
Henry County Farm Bureau®

The Henry County Farm Bureau Young Leaders invite the public to participate in the annual “Cram the Cab” Food Drive on Saturday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Fareway Meat & Grocery, located at 540 Pritchard Drive, Geneseo, IL.

This community-wide effort aims to collect non-perishable food items to benefit local food banks ahead of the holiday season. Volunteers will be on-site to “cram” a tractor cab and pickup truck with donations, symbolizing the agricultural community’s commitment to fighting hunger.

“We’re proud to partner with Fareway and our generous donors to make a meaningful impact,” said Justine Johnson, Chair of the Henry County Farm Bureau Young Leaders. “Every can, box, and bag helps fill shelves and hearts this season.”

Donors are invited to give shelf-stable items such as canned vegetables, stuffing, mashed potato mix and more.  Monetary donations will also be accepted and directed to local food assistance programs.

The event is sponsored by the Henry County Farm Bureau Young Leaders, a group dedicated to leadership development, community service, and agricultural advocacy.

For more information, contact the Henry County Farm Bureau at (309) 937-2411 or email manager@henrycofarmbureau.org.
