The Geneseo FFA Chapter is celebrating National Farm Safety and Health Week by participating in a contest sponsored by the Henry County Farm Bureau during the week of September 15 through September 21. The Geneseo FFA’s Safety Display Committee has been working throughout the past few weeks to prepare a video and display demonstrating farm safety, featuring facts and statistics about safety practices and precautions in the agriculture industry. Working in collaboration with Prairie State Tractor, the committee created a video highlighting ways to stay safe around farm equipment and statistics to back these up.
The committee then set up their safety display, which can be found next to the Casey’s on North College Avenue in Geneseo. The display includes the Geneseo FFA Plot Committee’s combine shown harvesting rows of corn lined with farm safety facts and practices.
