   Libraries aren’t just for reading books…The Geneseo Public Library offers year round activities for all ages.

   Story time with crafts for prekindergarten through sixth grader is offered at 10 a.m. on Thursdays, unless other programs are scheduled that day.

   Story time for 0-3 year-olds is at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays.

   The Summer Reading Program (SRP) with log-in and prizes will be held the month of July, but other activities are planned for the entire summer.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS:

  -First Friday of the Month – Music Time with Miss Tina, 9:15 a.m. for ages 0-2 and 10 to 11 a.m. for ages 3-5.

  -Second Friday of the Month Music Theory with Miss Tina, 10 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 8-12.

  -Third Thursday of the Month – 4 p.m., Power Up at the Library for ages 6-11.

  -June 28 – 7 p.m. – Jim Cruise – “The Spoon Man.”

  -June 30 – 10 a.m. – WQPT’s  Lucita Sky from Hero Elementary.

  -July 3 – July 29 – Summer Reading Log-in – Keep track of reading for prizes.

  -July 6 – 2 p.m. – Cardboard Characters – Trace yourself on cardboard to make a 2-D portrait.  Limited to 6 participants and advance registration necessary at the library.

  -July 12 – 6 p.m. – Interactive movie – Disney’s Animated “The Little Mermaid.”  Register in advance

  -July 20 – 2 p.m. – Dan Gogh’s Magic and Art Show.

  -July 27 – 6:30-7:30 – Family Karaoke with Most Wanted Productions.

  -Aug. 2 – 10 a.m. – The Song of Bugs – ISU Insect Zoo.

  -Aug. 10 – 2 p.m. – Figge’s Big Picture.

CAMP OUT WITH A GOOD BOOK – State Senator Win Stoller’s Summer Reading Club:

  -Students entering first 1st through 6th grade are challenged to read 8 books over the course of the summer.  Books over 200 pages may count as 2 books.

  -Once a student has completed the readings, they are to fill out a form and have it signed by parent or guardian.  Forms are available from???

  -Completed forms should be sent to State Senator Win Stoller at 121 East 1st St., Dixon, IL 61021

  -Once Senator Stoller’s collects all the completed forms, kids who successfully read 8 books will be sent an official certificate of recognition from the Illinois Senate and an invitation to an ice cream party.

  -Forms are to be returned by Aug 4 to be eligible.  For questions, contact 815-677-9445.
