VFW Auxiliary Geneseo 5083 is offering two Patriotic Art Contests. Both contests are open to local students in grades 9-12.
This year kicks off the VFW Auxiliary’s first 3-Dimensional Patriotic Art Contest which will award $4,000 in national scholarships, in addition to the Auxiliary’s annual Young American Creative Patriotic Art contest which gives local students the opportunity to compete for $34,000 in national scholarships.
Student entries for both contests must be submitted to VFW Auxiliary 5083 Geneseo by March 31, 2023. Interested students, parents and teachers are asked to contact Rhonda Borkgren at 309-714-8077 or at marineaunt2@yahoo.com for more information about the contests.

According to Geneseo VFW Auxiliary member Rhonda Borkgren, the VFW Auxiliary is one of the nation’s oldest veterans’ service organizations and members are the relatives of those who served in a location of foreign conflict. There are nearly 470,000 members representing all 50 states that volunteer millions of hours and give millions of dollars to support veterans, military service personnel and their families.
