Art work by Les Hoste is featured in the window at RutabagA Gallery, 108 North State St., in downtown Geneseo, during the month of January.  The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Hoste, a member of RutabagA, is a versatile woodworker and water color artist.  After retiring as a tooling engineer more than 10 years ago, Hoste has been able to continue his livelong passion of creating items from wood, including end tables, benches, doll furniture, cabinets, ornaments and more.

After retiring, Hoste was motivated by a friend to start painting in watercolors and he has become a prolific water colorist.

His art work includes a variety of subject matter, beautiful color palettes and skillful techniques.  The combination of these three elements has resulted in a collection of aesthetic pieces.  Photo by Claudia Loucks.
