Vicki Rowlands, left, and Andrea Hogue, board members of the Geneseo International Thanksgiving Fellowship Program, are in charge of the group’s ice cream social on Tuesday, June 13, in Geneseo City Park. Serving will begin at 6 p.m. with members of the Maple City Band performing at 7 p.m. Desserts and ice cream will be served.

Dessert donations are needed for the ice cream social and anyone interested in donating a baked item or in making a monetary donation is asked to contact Hogue at ahogue70@gmail.com.

In the event of inclement weather or low turn out for the ice cream social, a bake sale will be held from 8:30 to 1130 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, at the Central Bank Financial Center on East Route 6, Geneseo.

The Geneseo International Thanksgiving Fellowship Program is returning after a three-year hiatus as a result of the pandemic. Area families will again be able to host international college students over Thanksgiving break. The International House at the University of Chicago will arrange for approximately 15 students to stay in Geneseo homes this fall. There is a need for host families and more information is available from Marcia Helke, gitfp60@gmail.com.

In addition, a Fareway cookout will be held to support GITFP from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 14.
