Alex Fox, who serves on the Geneseo Historical Museum Board, will present a program titled, “Black, Lace, & Loss,” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Geneseo Historical Museum.
In the Victorian era, grief had its own language, and Fox’s program will help guests step into the Victorian world of mourning and discover how families expressed grief and remembered loved ones.
He explained the program is “a quick glance at Victorian and Edwardian mourning traditions and how they have changed, and yet stayed the same over the last 200 years.”
