More than 200 quilts will be displayed at the “Fall in Love with Quilts” quilt show planned for Sept. 12-13 by the Geneseo Quilt Guild.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Geneseo Community Center, 541 East North St., Geneseo. Admission is $5 per person and there will be a special raffle drawing for a king-size quilt valued at $4,800. The quilt was made by Guild members Mary Martin, Dawn Rettig and Deb Magerkurth and quilted by Adam Frommelt. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. There also will be additional drawings for raffle baskets.
The show will include quilts hanging from the walking track at the Center.
Featured quilter at the show is Chris Vincent of Geneseo.
More than 13 vendors will be selling quilt-related items at the show.
On Friday, Sept. 12, visitors will be able to vote on their favorite quilts and the winning ribbons will be displayed at the show on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Janette Dwyer will be available to do quilt appraisals, for a fee, at the show for anyone interested in taking their quilts to be appraised.
A special feature will be an old-fashion bed turning with “What Says Love about This Quilt” as the theme.
Quilting Treasures will be at the show, offering second-hand items at bargain prices.
Lunch will be available.
The quilt show helps fund numerous Quilt Guild programs and charity work, including making quilts for “Quilts of Valor,” Love Quilts, and other areas where there are needs.
