Devon Schaaf was searching for a place to catch her breath and start fresh, which led her to opening The Well Studio at 118 West 2nd St., Geneseo, in June of this year.

She describes her business as “restorative stretching and stress management,” and she explained the idea for The Well Studio came from her own experience. “I was working in a high-stress career and found myself craving a place to slow down, breathe, and reset. I realized that if I needed something like The Well, there were probably others who needed it too.”

“I started The Well Studio because I’m passionate about helping others find simple, meaningful ways to manage stress and create more peace in themselves, and learn tools they can carry with them long after they leave.”

When asked what was the biggest hurdle she had to overcome prior to opening The Well Studio, she answered, “Honestly, my biggest hurdle was believing I could do it. I was stepping away from a career I had known for years and into something completely different. I had to learn to trust God and myself, take the leap, and be okay with figuring things out as I went.”

Even though The Well Studio is Schaaf’s first brick-and-mortar business, she previously worked as an independent consultant with Arbonne International from 2006-2018, and she added, “That experience gave me my first taste of entrepreneurship and helped build many of the skills I’m using today.”

The Well Studio operates on a monthly class schedule, with class days and times varying throughout the month. For more information, call Schaaf at 309-236-5481.
