Theresa Taets has been named Volunteer of the Month at the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry. She has been a volunteer at the food pantry for the last two years, and her responsibilities include assisting guests in the food room and helping sort donations in the clothing room.
She and her husband, Chuck, have three adult children.
The volunteer enjoys volunteering, walking, reading, serving at church, and spending time with her family and friends.
She said the best thing about volunteering at the food pantry is helping people and interacting with them.
Her most memorable experience at the pantry was being able to give a hug and encourage a lady that was grieving. Another memorable experience is seeing “how our community steps up when the food pantry is low on supplies,” and she wants wants to thank all the Girls Scouts and firemen for that!
