GENESEO — The Lady Leafs volleyball team bounced back from an opening-set loss Thursday night to defeat Sterling 2-1 at home.
Sterling took the first set 25-19, but the Lady Leafs answered emphatically in the second. Geneseo rolled to a 25-11 victory to even the match and force a deciding third set.
The Lady Leafs carried that momentum into the finale, pulling away for a 25-17 victory to complete the comeback.
The win continued a strong stretch for Geneseo, which has now won seven straight matches after victories over Alleman, Orion, United Township, Galesburg, Moline, Rock Island, and Sterling.
We’ll have a highlight reel and photos published later today.
