GENESEO — Cole Clifton scored three goals Tuesday night as the Geneseo boys soccer team defeated Galesburg 5-1 at the GHS soccer pitch.
The Maple Leafs took a 2-0 lead into halftime before adding three more goals in the second half. Galesburg scored its lone goal after the break.
Clifton, a junior, recorded the hat trick. Senior Reese Minnaert and freshman Kyle Wirth scored goals of their own. Junior Elliot Kreiner recorded an assist.
Goalkeeper Harrison Conley tracked seven saves only allowing one goal on the evening.
