Da Bear's New Stadium

Olympics

We sure enjoyed watching the winter Olympics. Former skating gold medalist winner, Scott Hamilton, paid Alysa Liu great comments. She won the gold medal in the women’s single skating event. Liu certainly deserved all the adulates and praise. As of this writing, USA is third from winning the most medals. Whatever, our country showed what hard work and perseverance can pay off. Win or lose, a big “Thank You” to all the participants.

New Bear’s Stadium?

Well, yes, but where??? They could put it on their 326 plus acres at Arlington Heights. Of course, what about moving to Indiana? I don’t think that will be the road ‘da Bears will take. Really, it is all about the millions of green backs to finance such a huge project. At my age I won’t see it built, but after all the back-door haggling, I think they’ll stay here in “the pride of Illinois.”

Just Some Thoughts

1) I didn’t make it to church on Ash Wednesday so no ash mark on my forehead. The Pope had the ash placed on top of his head and not on his forehead. While here in our country the ash cross is made on the forehead, but it really depends largely on where Ash Wednesday is worship.

2) AI for this one. I saw on Facebook what was suppose to be an actual WW2 photo. On closer look, two of the soldiers carried M16 rifles. Ooops!! Wrong war, guys!

3) One thing on the dashboard of both our vehicles is a tachometer. I never have any use for it. If my memory serves me right, it used to be a need if you had a straight transmission. Today, with most vehicles using an automatic transmission, is there really a need?

4) Mottled sculpin. Ever heard of one? They are a strange looking little fish(about the size of a finger) that are on the threatened list here in Illinois. Their whole life can be spent within a few hundred square meters. A view do seem to roam further. The sculpin is endangered from Ag runoff and warmer water temps in springs. Thanks to efforts from the Illinois McHenry County Conservation District, they are working to transplant them to other locations.

5) As for Ukraine maybe I’m not looking at the right place, but besides a land war I never hear or read anything about Ukraine’s air force. I know Poland has given them fighter aircraft. Maybe it’s taking awhile for training the pilots?! I think the total dead and injured soldiers on both sides is made-up. What do I know, but I think the European nations should do more to help Ukraine. What goes around, comes around! Putin doesn’t stop at borders. Penny for your Thoughts Well, eventually that little coin will be kaput. As you know it costs about 1.26 to make a penny, depending on a few factors. Actually, with the 5 cent nickel the difference is even more to manufacture at almost 10 cents.

Humor

1) The other day a clown held the door open for Lorna as she was going into the grocery store. She thought it was nice jester.

2)What did one toilet say to the other? Ans: “You look a bit flushed.”

Seniors

A) At times, talk to yourself. At times you need expert advice!

B) “On time” is when you get there!

C) “One for the road” means go to the bathroom before you leave the house.
