The Geneseo boys soccer team broke out offensively Thursday night, rolling past East Peoria 9-0 at the GHS Soccer Pitch.

Cole Clifton lead the scoring frenzy with 4 goals.

The victory was the Maple Leafs' first home win and first shutout of the season, improving Geneseo to 2-3-1.

Geneseo entered the match having scored seven goals through its first five games before surpassing that total with nine against the Raiders.

The win also snapped a two-game skid for the Maple Leafs. Geneseo had fallen 1-0 to Coal City before playing Morris to a 2-2 draw and falling in a shootout.

Geneseo returns to action Monday against Streator/Woodland.
